Many of the themes of the Book of Acts correspond with the themes of the gospel of Luke. These include the outlines of salvation history, Christology, rejection by the Jews, emphasis upon the marginalized or disenfranchised, wealth and poverty, the Holy Spirit, prayer, the Word of God, Jewish ceremonies, Early Catholicism, and peace instead of violence.

The following themes are new and not emphasized in the gospel: the Church, Missions and ministry, and the fact that events are preordained.
